This event will serve to formally launch the report entitled Decent Work in Nature-based Solutions 2024: Unlocking jobs through investment in skills and nature-based infrastructure, produced and published in a collaboration between ILO, UNEP, and IUCN IN 2024.

The report explores key questions in relation to scaling up nature-based solutions (NbS): What is the global employment potential of scaling up NbS? And what are the challenges and opportunities for creating more jobs through nature-based infrastructure? What are the key skills required for broadening the use of NbS? And how can we develop them?

The event will provide an opportunity to discuss the report’s findings and the broader links between NbS and decent work and sustainable livelihoods. The event will also provide policymakers with information that can be used to help make the case for scaling up investments in NbS, as a crucial component of meeting our global targets by 2030.
