NAbSA Dialogues — Policy and Governance for Nature-based Solutions
ONLINE
October 29, 2024
About
Nature-based solutions (NbS) offer a transformative approach to addressing climate change and biodiversity loss. However, implementing NbS at scale requires more than just innovative practices – it demands robust policy frameworks and effective governance.
As the 3 Rio Conventions rapidly approach and with COP16 in Cali just a few days away, this session focused on experiences from 6 Partnering for Climate (P4C) projects, each working in different Sub-Saharan countries and ecosystems, and how they work to integrate NbS into national and international policy frameworks, address challenges and opportunities in governance of NbS, and use collaboration between governments and stakeholders to drive effective NbS governance. We heard the experiences from each of these 6 projects:
- Natur’ELLES / Resilient women in the Middle Atlas (FERMA), SOCODEVI
- Feminist Climate Action in West Africa (ACF-AO), InterPares
- On-Air for Gender-Inclusive Nature-based Climate Solutions, Farm Radio International
- Women for Forests: Climate Change Adaptation in Moyen-Bafing National Park, Guinea, UPA Développement international
- Gender Transformative Climate Adaptation, Canadian Lutheran World Relief
- Ecosystem-based Solutions for Sustainable Adaptation (SEDAD), Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles
This event is part of the Nature-based Solutions for Climate Adaptation (NAbSA) Dialogues series. On the last Tuesday of every month, join enriching discussions highlighting impactful NbS for climate adaptation. Discover the successes of urban and coastal ecosystems, innovative financing strategies, and the strength of community sharing within Partnering for Climate (P4C) projects and beyond.
