November 20, 2024
About
TSURO Trust (Towards Sustainable Use of Resources Organization) is a community-based organization formed to empower rural communities in Zimbabwe in sustainable agriculture and natural resource management. TSURO Trust is one of 10 local organizations implementing the Canadian Foodgrains Bank’s (CFGB’s) Nature Positive Food Systems for Climate Adaptation (Nature+) program, funded through Global Affairs Canada’s Partnering for Climate initiative.
Taking advantage of their visit to Ottawa, Roseline Mukonoweshuro, TSURO’s Project Manager for the Nature+ Project, and Farai Gumisai, Agroecology Lead, will speak about their organization’s deep community connections, their promotion of a conservation agriculture+ model, their innovative approach to rangeland management, the impact of their gender equality work, including a campaign against gender-based violence, and other aspects of the Nature+ project. They will be accompanied by CFGB’s Michael Salomons and Primates’ World Relief and Development Fund’s (PWRDF’s) Jacqueline Koster.
