International Development Week | Climate Day

IN OTTAWA AND ONLINE

February 9, 2024

About

During International Development Week, Global Affairs Canada is organizing the Nature-Based Solutions for Climate and Biodiversity Community of Practice (CoP) and the Partnering for Climate (P4C) initiative’s Annual Learning and Sharing event. The event will focus on Indigenous perspectives in relation to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)’s Global Standard for Nature-based Solutions . The event will also include presentations from five Partnering for Climate projects as well as the NCAI and the Nature-based Solutions for Climate Adaptation: Monitoring and Impact Evaluation (NAbSA) project, along with an interactive marketplace to network with CoP members.

This event will be preceded by a discussion on financing to strengthen climate resilience organized by Global Affairs Canada. Through this event, partners will share perspectives on how insurance and other financial resilience mechanisms can be best structured and targeted, as well as explore the complementarity of other tools that support resilience, such as financial and social systems.

Simultaneous interpretation in English and French will be available throughout the event.

This event will be live streamed, and a link will be shared with participants prior to the event.
