How Nature-Based Solutions Restore Balance
Farm to Globe: Transforming Our Food Systems webinar series
July 29, 2021
As part of their mini-series on climate change, the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at UBC Farm organized a webinar on nature-based solutions (NbS), covering what they are and what is being done to implement them around the world. This webinar focused on natural climate solutions in Canadian food systems, from switching to restorative agriculture to cultivating mangrove forest regrowth. Several of these NbS were founded in Indigenous Knowledge systems.
Watch the recording to learn more from panellists Drew Bondar (Delta Farmland and Wildlife Trust), Professor Terry Sunderland (UBC Faculty of Forestry), and Larry McDermott (Plenty Canada) as they discuss their own NbS approaches and research. Learn more about this webinar and the speakers on UBC Farm’s website.
The Farm to Globe: Transforming Our Food Systems series is organized by the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems (CSFS), the BC Food Web, the Faculty of Land and Food Systems (LFS), and the Royal Bank of Canada.
