Private Sector Mobilization for Climate and Biodiversity Finance

Save the date for a Global Environment Facility General Assembly side event on mobilizing private investment and private sector participation in climate and biodiversity programming in developing countries.

• 3:00 – 3:50 p.m.: The Honorable Ahmed Hussen, Canada’s Minister of International Development, will be represented by Peter MacDougall, Assistant Deputy Minister, Global Issues Branch, Global Affairs Canada, in an armchair discussion with Canadian and international impact investors and businesses on mobilizing private sector finance for climate action and biodiversity conservation.
• 4:10 – 5:30 p.m.: Meeting of the Nature-Based Solutions for Climate and Biodiversity Community of Practice to build on insights from the armchair discussion and explore how to engage with and mobilize private sector investment and expertise alongside Canadian-led nature-based solutions and biodiversity programming.

The events will be live-cast with simultaneous interpretation on Global Affairs Canada’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. There will not be an active virtual participation option.
