The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) invites you to a Nature Series discussion on Why Women Are Central To Nature-Based Solutions.Gender-responsive nature-based solutions can address underlying vulnerabilities to climate change and unlock opportunities for equitable socio-economic development. Women are disproportionately affected by climate change, but they contribute unique perspectives, knowledge, and skills that are critical to addressing climate challenges. CIF is hosting this virtual discussion to examine how to design and implement nature-based solutions that consider gender equality and social inclusion, including
- advancing the voices and perspectives of women in climate investments, access to land rights, natural resource management, and marine ecosystem management;
- analyzing the gaps and barriers impeding the role of women leaders in nature-based solutions;
- capturing insights and feedback from the webinar audience on challenges related to integrating gender-transformative approaches in nature-based solutions.
Simultaneous interpretation in English, French, and Spanish will be available throughout the webinar.
The webinar discussion forms part of CIF’s Nature, People, and Climate Investment Program (NPC) Learning Platform, launched last year in response to requests from several countries for knowledge exchanges on nature-based solutions.
