Implementing Nature-Based Solutions Projects That Support Human Rights and Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion
Protecting the environment is closely linked to ensuring everyone’s rights. With this in mind, the Kiwa Initiative published a series of resources to support human rights, gender equality, disability, and social inclusion (GEDSI) while implementing nature-based solutions (NbS) projects. These resources, designed in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) and Talanoa Consulting, include
- a human rights brochure: 12 entry points for human rights in NbS for advocates, policy-makers, and practitioners;
- a human rights risk assessment tool designed to help practitioners assess and address human rights risks in different NbS sectors;
- a GEDSI analysis for NbS in the Pacific Islands to learn how to take gender equity, disability rights, and social inclusion into account in your NbS project;
