NAbSA Dialogues — The Importance of Biodiversity
ONLINE
April 30, 2024
About
During the first session of the NAbSA Dialogues, participants from the Partnering for Climate (P4C) initiative and experts beyond this community discussed the integral role of biodiversity in climate resilience and adaptation. This session was designed to offer technical insights into how biodiversity underpins the stability and functionality of ecosystems in the face of climate change, emphasizing its significance for community resilience and sustainable livelihoods amid shifting environmental conditions. This inaugural Dialogue laid the foundations of biodiversity: related concepts and tools were also presented to show the impacts of species loss on ecosystem health—among others—and the importance of conservation strategies and nature-based solutions (NbS) that prioritize biodiversity in adaptation planning.
This event is part of the NAbSA Dialogues series. On the last Tuesday of every month, join enriching discussions highlighting impactful NbS for climate adaptation. Discover the successes of urban and coastal ecosystems, innovative financing strategies, and the strength of community sharing within P4C projects and beyond.
